John Beale is executive vice president and chief information officer at City National Bank, where he manages the company’s Information Services and Call Center divisions. He also is a member of City National’s Executive Committee and chair of the Information Technology Steering Committee and Capital Investment Committee.
During his tenure at the bank, Mr. Beale has spearheaded the evolution of the bank’s technology, eCommerce, call center, information security and business continuity capabilities, making City National an industry leader.
Before joining the bank, Mr. Beale was executive vice president and principal with CAST Management Consultants, and was responsible for the international consulting firm’s information technology practice. Before that, he was a senior manager at Price Waterhouse’s Management Consulting Group and vice president and manager of First Interstate Bank’s wholesale systems group. Mr. Beale began his career on Wall Street as a financial analyst in Citibank’s Money Market division. He has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and technology industries.
Mr. Beale is a patron of the Artists for the Arts Foundation. He currently works with numerous other community groups, and previously served on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Southern California. In addition, he is one of the principal authors of “IT Roadmaps for Success,” published by Aspatore Books, and published “Changing Behavior Through IT” on Executive Blueprints.
Mr. Beale currently serves on the Governing Body for the Southern California CIO Executive Summit. He is a former member of the editorial advisory board for Bank Technology News, and a current member of the Banking Services Roundtable. He also has been elected to the “Who’s Who of Worldwide Business Leaders.”
