City National Bank's Successful Backpack Giveaway to Over 100 Families

More than 100 families received free backpacks, school supplies, clothes and shoes just in time for back-to-school season, thanks to City National Bank and LA Family Housing. The backpack giveaway took place last week in Sylmar, a city north of Los Angeles.

With rising rents and persistent inflation affecting our communities, City National Bank is doing what it can to help low-income families and children living in transitional housing. Since 2010, City National has donated more than 21,500 backpacks to students across the country.

The event was covered by six broadcast outlets including KTLA, Telemundo 52, and KCBS/KCAL TV.  Jennifer Nickerson, SVP, Corporate Citizenship Manager was interviewed on KCAL/KCBS News.
