There is no service fee for City National Bank clients who order foreign currency.
Special handling and special order requests can be accommodated for City National Bank clients.
Some major currencies at select banking offices may be available the same business day. In most cases, orders requested before 2 p.m. PT will be available by the next business day, while orders requested after 2 p.m. PT will be available within two business days. Rest assured, your Relationship Manager will do whatever they can to get you the foreign currency you need before your next trip.
To order foreign currency, contact your Relationship Manager or visit your local City National Bank branch.
Upon your return, City National Bank will exchange your foreign currency for U.S. dollars for no additional fee. Simply contact your Relationship Manager or visit your local branch to make an exchange.

Foreign exchange services and products are subject to applicable credit approval, legal and regulatory requirements and credit eligibility and suitability requirements.
Foreign currency is sold or purchased at City National's announced rates. Foreign currency returned following delivery will be repurchased at City National's then announced purchase rate. A service charge may apply on a transaction under a stated U.S. dollar amount. Orders for foreign currency canceled following confirmation but before delivery are subject to reversal at City National's then current purchase rate. Special orders for foreign currency not carried in stock must be prepaid. Other transaction minimums and service fees may apply. Ask us for details.
Exchange rates fluctuate, at times significantly, and you acknowledge and accept all risks that may result from such fluctuations. If we assign an exchange rate to your foreign exchange transaction, that exchange rate will be determined by us in our sole discretion based upon such factors as we determine relevant, including without limitation, market conditions, exchange rates charged by other parties, our desired rate of return, market risk, credit risk and other market, economic and business factors, and is subject to change at any time without notice. For an international wire transfer, other financial institutions involved in the wire transfer may also charge fees and deduct their fees from the amount of the wire transfer. For international wire transfers, in addition to our standard wire transfer fee, other fees may also apply, including those charged by the recipient's financial institution, foreign taxes, and other fees that are part of the wire transfer process. Markups associated with the currency conversion are included in the City National Bank rate.
