City National Bank, through its Reading is The Way up® literacy program, donated a book vending machine to Ada S. Nelson Elementary School in Whittier.

The book vending machine donation reinforces the bank’s commitment to support reading and education with the goal of providing students with greater access to books while encouraging learning. Students who get good grades or demonstrate good behavior can earn tokens that they can redeem for a book from the machine.

Ada S. Nelson Elementary is the first school in the LA area to receive a book vending machine from City National. Several other LA area schools will receive a book vending machine this year. City National selected Ada S. Nelson Elementary to highlight its commitment to Whittier since it recently opened a new branch there.
