Easily Send a Wire Transfer
Send domestic and international wire transfers using the City National Bank App® or City National Online®. The following account types can be used to fund a wire transfer:
- Demand Deposit Accounts (DDAs)
- Interest Checking Accounts
- Money Market Accounts (MMAs)
Domestic wires are processed the same day if submitted before 2:30 p.m. (PT) / 5:30 p.m. (ET).
International wires are processed the same day if submitted before 1:30 p.m. (PT) / 4:30 p.m. (ET).
Send a wire transfer using the City National Bank App
- Sign in to the City National Bank App.
- From the bottom of the screen, select Move Money, then select Send a Wire Transfer.
- Choose a recipient to send the wire transfer to (a new recipient or a previously saved recipient), and select Next.
- Select the wire type:
- Domestic (USD)
- International (USD)
- International (foreign currency)
- Enter the wire details, including the recipient's information (e.g., name, address, and banking information).
- Select if you want to save the recipient for future transfers, and then select Go To Wire Details.
- Choose a Wire Date, enter the amount, and choose the account that will fund the wire transfer.
- Select Review.
- After reviewing, enter your name, and then swipe the Slide to Authorize toggle to the right.
- Verify your identity with a text or voice verification code, and then select Confirm Device.
Send a wire transfer from a web browser
- Sign in to City National Online.
- From the Account Summary, select Transfers, then Wire Transfers, then Wire Money.
- If applicable, select if the wire will be sent to a Saved Recipient or New Recipient.
- Select the wire type:
- Domestic (USD)
- International (USD)
- International (foreign currency)
- Enter the wire details, including the recipient's information: Name, Address, and bank information. Your transaction limit will be listed in the gray text box.
- Select the check box if you’d like to save the recipient for future transfers.
- Select the account to send funds from.
- Choose a Wire Date and enter the amount.
- Select Next to review the wire transfer details.
- Enter your name as shown, and select I Accept.
- You’ll be redirected to the Wire Transfer Request Confirm Identity screen. Verify your identity with a text or voice message verification code, then select Verify and Submit.
- View or download your Consumer Wire Transfer Confirmation and Receipt.
City National Bank App requires that you download the City National Bank App and is only available for select mobile devices. Requires setup in City National Online. Data connection required. Message and data rates may apply.
