Book Vending Machine Brings Smiles and Stories to Crete Academy

To help celebrate National Financial Literacy Month in April, City National Bank, through its Reading is The way up® literacy program, recently donated a book vending machine to Crete Academy in South Central LA.

The book vending machine donation reinforces the bank’s commitment to support reading and education with the goal of providing students with greater access to books while encouraging learning. Students who get good grades or demonstrate good behavior can earn tokens that can be redeemed for a brand-new book from the machine. Crete Academy is among several other schools in LA County that received a book vending machine this year.
